Behind These Walls - NH State Hospital 2009
Behind These Walls was photographed at the New Hampshire State Hospital in June of 2009. The project was photographed in three abandoned wings connected to the Main Building, Peasley, Kent and Bancroft. Peasley and Peasley Annex was the forensic unit which housed the criminally insane and male patients. Kent and Kent Annex housed the female patients while the Bancroft Building housed patients that could afford their own health care which provided a higher quality of living. Kent and Peasley closed in the 1970's while the Bancroft building closed in the late 1990's. The wings of this project are the last to be virtually untouched since their closing, and no plans are in place within the State Budget for rehabilition in the near future. This project is available as 12" x 18" limited edition archival pigment prints on fiber based paper. Please contact Aaron for further details. .
